How to Create Shopify Subscription Bundles with Loop: Step-by-Step

Now, let’s walk through exactly how to set up your first bundle using Loop’s Build Your Bundle feature. 

Before you start, create a selling plan. Map products to the selling plan that you want to sell via the bundle. Install the latest bundle snippet or update to the latest version on the chosen theme. 

1. Enable the Build Your Bundle Experience

In your Loop dashboard, head to:

Subscriptions → Build Your Bundle

Enable both:

• Build Your Bundle
  
• Custom Bundle Builder Page

This gives your customers a dedicated, on-brand builder page to create or edit their subscription bundles whenever they want.

2. Create a New Bundle Group

Click “Create New Group” and fill out:

• A name like “Build Your Own Snack Box” or “Monthly Wellness Bundle”
• Description (internal)
• Whether the bundle is fixed or customizable
• Minimum/maximum products per bundle (e.g. 3–6)

You can also organize products by category (e.g. "Protein", "Sleep", "Hydration") to make the selection experience smoother.

3. Select Purchase Option

Select the purchase option as 'Subscription' or 'One-time + subscription' and link a selling plan to the bundle.

Note: Build your bundle can not be sold as ‘One-time only’.

Click on ‘Link selling plans’ and select the selling plan.

4. Select Bundle Size Options

There are two types of 'Build Your Bundle' available at Loop :

• Fixed size bundles : Customers will need to add the exact no. of items the merchant has defined. You can, however, add multiple size options. 
• Range based bundles : With Range based bundles, customers will only need to satisfy the min and max items criteria and can choose any no. of products between this criteria.

Additionally, you can offer tier based discounts depending upon the no. of items.

You can choose to limit the count of same product to be added by a customer. To limit the same product count - Select Yes, I want to limit the quantity of same product and configure the maximum quantity allowed.

5. Configure Discounts

The next step is to configure discounts for your Bundle. There is an option to add tiered discounts as well. The discounts offered can be of two types: 

• Fixed discount which offers a fixed monetary discount.
• Percentage discount which offers a percentage discount of the total bundle product value.

By default, the discount is only offered on subscription purchase option only. However you can allow the discount to be available for one time purchase option too!

6. Select Redirect and Save

Once you've configured all the settings, you can access the settings by clicking on items under selections section. Click on Save at the bottom of the page. 

Once you've saved your bundle. You will see bundle page URL. You can copy this and paste in your Shopify store theme as required.

Note: To add the url in the navigation bar in shopify storefront. Head over to Shopify > Sales channel > Navigation > Main menu.

Customer Subscription Bundle Experience

Product view page - Customers can purchase bundles through dedicated build your bundle page.

Cart experience - Bundles appear in the shopping cart as one single product, which provides a simple and consolidated purchase view. Customers are able to edit their bundle selection from the cart in case they forgot to select an item or selected a product they did not want. Refer to this article to enable the "Edit" bundle feature on your store.

Edit bundle experience - Once customers click on the edit button from the cart, they will go to the edit bundle screen which allows them to choose their selections again. After the customers' new selection has been confirmed, they will be sent to the configured redirection page.

Checkout experience - Customers can see the bundle's contents on the payment page.

Customer portal experience - The customer sees the bundle as a single product along with the contents of the bundle.

Loop admin portal - Merchants can see the bundle item as a subscription making it easier for them in the reconciliation.

Shopify order page - Merchants can see associated bundle items at the required price in order to ensure hassle-free inventory management.

Customize your bundle page

Loop allows you to customize the build your bundle page to suit your brand’s style. You can update the following through the loop application.

Texts: Edit the text on your bundle page to align with your store's tone.

Styles: Customize the appearance of your bundle page to match your store's branding. Additional CSS modifications are also possible.

Custom JS: Tailor the functionality of your bundle page with custom JavaScript to enhance your store's user experience.

Q) Is multi-lingual content supported on bundles?

A) Yes, multilingual content is supported for subscription bundles. You can head over to Loop > Settings > Multilingual content.

Q) How does bundle discounting work?

A) Bundle discounts apply on top of the discount applied in the selling plan to a bundle.

Q) How do you change the subscription frequency in a bundle?

A) The bundle frequency is established via the selling plan for your bundle. You can go to Loop > Subscription > Selling plan and edit the frequency in the selling plan. You can also add or remove the selling plan!

Q) Does Bundle have multi currency support?

A) There is no multi-currency support for bundles at the moment. The items are displayed in Store currency on the bundle page, but at checkout the subtotal is completed using the market currency.
